The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly signing Nigel Hayes of the G League’s Westchester Knicks to a 10-day contract, reports Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. The Lakers have been fine tuning their roster in recent weeks, beginning when they waived veteran center Andrew Bogut.

The front office’s next move was reported to be an “aggressive” search for perimeter shooting help, which appeared to be in the form of signing Jamil Wilson to a 10-day contract. Those plans were called off after he was named in a sexual battery civil suit.

The Lakers then waived Vander Blue, clearing an extra two-way contract space that they’ve since slid Gary Payton II into.

Hayes will take on the Lakers’ 10-day contract for now, a 44 percent shooter from outside in 30 games played for the G League Knicks. He’s averaging 35.1 minutes, 14.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and five three-point attempts per game. The 23-year-old 6’8 forward went undrafted out of Wisconsin this year.

For a totally reasonable bar to set, here’s Hayes dropping 37 points on the Delaware 87ers in November:
