As the devastation in Houston following Hurricane Harvey making landfall continues to take it’s toll on Texas, more and more helping hands are reaching out to assist those in need. Some, like Beyonce whose hometown is Houston and is said to be making a huge $7 million donation, are giving generous sums to help aid those in need.

Others, like Gerald Green, are doing all they can on the ground level by taking boats around the flooded streets of Houston to search for survivors in need of rescue. Every little bit helps as the disaster recovery effort is underway.

Add the Los Angeles Lakers to the list of organizations offering assistance to the relief effort. The franchise announced that a $100,000 donation is being made to the American Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The Lakers also urged fans to join them in the donation effort.

If you’re interested in donating to the Red Cross, you can do so at redcross.org or 1-800-RED-CROSS. It’s also worth taking a look at other local organizations that are on the ground offering aid as well.
