It leaked over the weekend that Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and fellow future Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett would appear as guest announcers in NBA 2K18. On Monday, the game officially announced the new feature with a video giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect when Bryant and Garnett join the booth during their simulations:
Well that looks significantly less insane than the scenario I imagined in my initial blog about what Kobe’s commentary might sound like, but it looks like it should still be pretty cool, even if he won’t actually be running onto the court to steal your game winners and comparing Lonzo Ball to a psychic monk.
For the full-fledged Kobe announcing experience, fans will have to pick up NBA 2K18 when it releases on September 19th.
