Kobe Bryant’s NBA 2K18 rating on Lakers all-time team revealed

Happy birthday indeed!

It’s Kobe Bryant’s birthday, which also just so happens to be one day off of “Kobe Bryant Day” (8/24, for the uninitiated). What does that mean? Everybody’s getting in on the Kobe love, and 2K Sports decided to drop a little gem for Los Angeles Lakers fans.

We already knew Kobe was one of the featured Lakers on the all-time team, along with Shaquille O’Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, Pau Gasol, James Worthy and Magic Johnson. We didn’t know what his rating would be.

Whichever “year” of Kobe is attached to the team will be rated at a 98. Considering he’s wearing No. 24, it’ll likely be from somewhere between the 2007-2008 team and 2009-2010 team. Safe money is on his Most Valuable Player season.

That puts all-time Kobe in elite territory, as expected. LeBron James is the highest rated current player revealed so far at 97, though a handful of players like Russell Westbrook and James Harden have yet to be revealed.

Now soak in the #MambaJaw from Kobe, along with him wearing the slightly-revamped Nike uniform:
