2K Sports is adding a new fold into the layers of NBA 2K this time around, adding all-time teams for every franchise in 2K18. When it comes to all-time greats, the Los Angeles Lakers might be the most stacked team ever when it comes time to start dusting off the history books.
2K Sports gave fans their first look at the Lakers’ team, and as expected, it’s a who’s who of purple and gold royalty:
#NBA2K18 will feature "all-time" teams for every NBA franchise. Here's your 1st look at the All-Time @Lakers squad! Who's joining them? pic.twitter.com/QHG4YrUhR2

Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and Pau Gasol are the first seven players revealed, but that’s not enough to round out the rotation. If you look closely, there’s someone creeping behind Paul Gasol and Wilt, someone behind Shaq and Worthy and someone behind Shaq and Kobe:

Who could these mysterious Lakers be? It seems like a gimme that Jerry West will be on the team, so we’ll give one of those spots to him (likely behind Pau and Wilt). Another fairly obvious omission is Elgin Baylor, who absolutely deserves a spot on the all-time squad.
It get’s a little tricky guessing the other two, but the Lakers’ all-time frontcourt is already pretty stacked making a Lamar Odom sighting seemingly unlikely. Maybe you get George Mikan in the mix if we’re talking all-time.
Other interesting additions to consider? Derek Fisher may not have the stats, but he’s a beloved Laker who came up big time and time again. Jamaal Wilkes would be a solid addition. Robert Horry might be worth giving a spot to just for the clutch factor. What about Michael Cooper?
There are plenty of options, but does it even really matter? These seven players splitting up 48 minutes should do just fine.
