The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to officially introduce their new uniforms to the world, but that’s not going to stop them from leaking. While many teams are beginning to unveil their new jerseys, Lakers rookie Josh Hart may have gotten ahead of himself and leaked the first look at the Nike design.
And, unsurprisingly, the new look is very much like the old look (h/t Lakerholicz):

For reference sake, here’s a picture of the old away jersey:

It looks like the biggest change will be around the collar, where the shape is slightly different and the gold bar across the center has been eliminated. Aside from that and a Nike swoosh, it’s virtually identical from an aesthetics standpoint.
Hart likely revealed the Lakers’ “Icon Edition” jerseys, which are set to become a re-branded “away” jersey from a design standpoint. The difference is that teams don’t have to wear an “away” jersey when on the road, but pick from one of the four new Nike designs they have so long as it contrasts with the home team.
With the “Icon” jerseys being almost the exact look the Lakers have worn for years, the “Association Edition” will likely be the same home look we’ve become accustomed to.
