LAS VEGAS- When Brandon Ingram crumpled to the floor in the closing seconds of regulation of the Los Angeles Lakers 96-93 overtime loss to the LA Clippers to open Las Vegas Summer League, one could almost hear the hearts of the voracious crowd sink.
Thankfully for the Lakers and the fan base, everyone can breathe easy. Ingram said the injury was just a cramp, and the Lakers kept him out of the remainder of the game just to be cautious.
“I just stretched it out a little bit. I was ready to get back to playing but I looked over to the sidelines and saw [Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson] telling me I couldn't get back out there,” Ingram said.
It is unknown whether or not Ingram will play in the Lakers’ Saturday night game against the Boston Celtics, but regardless, the injury does not sound as though it will be a serious issue going forward.
