Nick Young is heading to the Golden State Warriors on a one-year deal, joining the defending champions after opting out of his deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Young and Draymond Green popped up on social media together, taking in some championship-level celebrating before Young made his free agency decision. Swaggy P is officially a Warrior now and spoke with media for the first time since signing his contract.
Nick headed up to the bay for some Fourth of July time with the Dubs and quickly realized that nobody realized he was there.
“It is Fourth of July and they told me to come hangout. It was a different feeling. because I'm normally... you know, I'm Swaggy P. People like me. Nobody really paid attention to me that day when I was hanging out with these guys,” Young said.
As he spent his holiday with the Warriors, the group that was together sat down for dinner.
“They were getting free championship cakes. I think they set it up because we were eating dinner, somehow they were getting championship cakes. I'm just sitting there like, man, that seems cool. This is what you get when you're a Warrior, you know?
Perhaps the best bit from his first foray with Warriors media was his response to being asked for his thoughts about passing.
“Passing uhmm... when I come in, the other guys might be out hopefully, so uh, you know... that's the point guards job. Be open. I guess I gotta give the ball up,” Young said.
And as for his tweet about Warriors fans being bandwagoners.... #hacked:

Never change, Nick. Never change.
