VIDEO: Julius Randle is bullying defenders at the Drew League

Julius will bruise defenders in any league.

Julius Randle is set to enter his fourth season with the Los Angeles Lakers since they selected him No. 7 overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. It will be the most important season so far in his young career as he hits the free agent market in the summer of 2018 as a restricted free agent.

The Lakers have big spending plans next summer as they hope to clear enough salary cap space to offer two max contracts and Randle’s $12.4 million cap hold could certainly factor into those aspirations somewhere. It will be the first contract year of Randle’s career and he has certainly put in work this summer to prepare for it.

Randle’s extreme workout regimen this summer has him in the best shape of his life and he certainly isn't forgetting to get some live action reps along with it. Randle has joined a number of players participating in the Drew League this year. Apparently, he enjoys running over defenders in any basketball league (via @Wells_P on Twitter).

Alright, so it’s not a video of Randle burying a three, which is what everyone wants to see him start doing on a more consistent basis. But his coast-to-coast, one-man fast-breaks are always a lot fun. Randle’s combination of size, speed and strength has always made him an intriguing player at the very least and it was on full display in this clip.

As for his overall performance in the game? Randle took home player of the game honors with 28 points and 18 rebounds.

With his first free agency experience looming and the surging Kyle Kuzma bringing some competition to him and Larry Nance, Jr. at the power forward position, this could be a make-or-break year for Randle, but he looks fantastic so far this summer. Can the regular season just start already?
