Los Angeles Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma made waves for himself in Las Vegas during summer league and it’s already paying off for the No. 27 pick. Kuzma jumped on Twitter to announce he signed a contract to join the Nike Basketball family:

Kuzma was rocking a pair of Kobe AD Stardusts through most of Las Vegas Summer League, pictured in his tweet above. Lonzo Ball wore a matching pair with him on the lone day he decided to wear Nikes as part of a “master plan” to send a message to major shoe brands.
Nike getting another foot in the door on the Lakers is pretty big for the company, especially considering Ball remains independent with Big Baller Brand. Brandon Ingram is signed to Adidas, and D’Angelo Russell took his Nike collection with him to the Brooklyn Nets. Julius Randle is signed to Nike, but the company still has a big void to fill on the Lakers post-Kobe Bryant.
A big congratulations to Kuzma, who played out of his mind in Vegas and clearly earned recognition, an overhaul to his kicks collection and some Nike money.
