The Los Angeles Lakers’ self-stated biggest needs going into the offseason were “shooting and defense,” both talents that their newest signing provides in abundance.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope may not be the shut-down defender some have him pegged as, but he is a damn good one, and crucially for the Lakers’ offense, he offers a dose of much-needed 3-point shooting as well.
Caldwell-Pope posted a video of his stroke on Instagram Friday, as players are wont to do during the offseason, and he should have cut it off before that final miss, because I would’ve been convinced he was incapable of missing/quite possibly the greatest shooter of all time.
But wait. Maybe Caldwell-Pope included that miss just to prove he’s human, or trick other teams into believing it. Maybe he just doesn’t want them to catch on to he and Lonzo Ball being the new splash brothers.
Or it’s just an offseason video of player knocking down shots. Either way, Caldwell-Pope was a great signing for the Lakers and this video shows part of the reason why. Enjoy:
