The Los Angeles Lakers are heading to the Las Vegas Summer League semifinals after a 115-106 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The Lakers gave up 63 points in the first half, but a second-half surge has the purple and gold advancing to the next round.
Kyle Kuzma impressed once again, scoring 26 points while showing his versatility. He spaced the floor, attacked closeouts and made good decisions passing the ball to help lead the Lakers to a victory. Kuzma’s corner three with 1:07 left was the dagger in a high-scoring contest.
Lonzo Ball had a quiet scoring night, adding in 14 points on 4-of-12 shooting. He dished out seven assists and pulled down nine rebounds as well. Vander Blue continues to be a valuable presence on the team, scoring a team-high 27 points.
It was a poor defensive performance from the Lakers but they leaned on their offense and it worked out Saturday night. The Lakers 115 points were the most in a Las Vegas Summer League game this year.
Next up, the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday at 5 p.m. PT.
