The Los Angeles Lakers are finally contending for championships again. Or at least NBA Summer League championships, if Las Vegas oddsmakers are to be believed.
LaVar Ball was right, and Lonzo Ball appears set to take the Lakers to the playoffs in his first season with the team, as the Lakers are 6/1 co-favorites alongside the Phoenix Suns to win the Las Vegas Summer League title, according to Westgate Las Vegas Superbook manager Jeff Sherman.
Trailing behind the Lakers and Suns are the Sacramento Kings at 7/1, with the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls rounding out the top-five at 10/1 odds each.
The Lakers’ roster is stacked by summer league standards, featuring Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac as the Las Vegas version of a big three, with David Nwaba, Josh Hart, Thomas Bryant, Kyle Kuzma and reigning D-League MVP Vander Blue all projecting as above average summer league contributors.
The Lakers will tip off their summer league schedule against the LA Clippers Friday, July 7 at 5:30 p.m. PT. You can check out the full list of favorites below:
