The road to the draft continues.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced they plan to workout NC State guard Dennis Smith Jr. as part of their latest group evaluation session Sunday.

The team will also work out Wesley Alves da Silva of Brazil, Milton Doyle of Loyola, Jeremy Hollowell of Georgia State, Tyler Lydon of Syracuse and Matt Thomas of Iowa State.

As the seventh-best player in the draft according to DraftExpress, Smith is undoubtedly the most notable prospect in this session following a freshman campaign which saw him average 18.1 points and 6.2 assists per game.

Lydon (24th) and Alves da Silva (94th) are the only two members of this group on DraftExpress’ top-100 prospect list, with Lydon seemingly more likely to end up in purple and gold due to his stock falling right around the Lakers’ No. 28 pick and the fact that he shot 39.2 percent from 3-point range, an ability sorely needed in Los Angeles.

The NBA Draft will take place June 22.
