The Los Angeles Lakers will work out N.C. State guard Dennis Smith, Jr. Sunday, according to the team.

Smith, the seventh-rated prospect on Draft Express’ top-100 prospects list, has also met with the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic this week, according to Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog

Smith was a pick-and-roll maestro in his one season at N.C. State, averaging 18.1 points and 6.2 assists as a freshman.

The Lakers are reportedly trying really hard to keep who they want to select under wraps so teams might try to trade up, so this meeting could just be an effort to keep their intentions nebulous.

Alternatively, with news that the team wasn’t “blown away” by UCLA guard Lonzo Ball, there is also a chance they’re legitimately seeing if Smith could surprise them, or he could be a candidate if they trade down.

Here is an updating list of every player the Lakers have worked out or met with. Harrison Faigen is co-host of the Locked on Lakers podcast (subscribe here), and you can follow him on Twitter at @hmfaigen.
