2017 NBA Draft: Lakers to work out Lamond Murray, Jr. Tuesday

The draft workouts never cease.

Senior forward Lamond Murray, Jr. will work out for the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday, according to the Pepperdine men’s basketball’s official Twitter account. The team also announced Murray worked out for the New York Knicks on Monday.

Murray is unranked as a prospect on DraftExpress after his final season with the Waves saw him average 21.1 points and 4.4 assists in 34.4 minutes per game. He is notably the cousin of former Lakers forward and assistant coach Tracy Murray.

Given he is unranked even among seniors on DraftExpress, it’s improbable Murray will be selected in the 2017 NBA Draft. This is likely another case of the Lakers doing their due diligence and attempting to find players to add to their Las Vegas Summer League roster or to round out the South Bay Lakers next season.
