The Los Angeles Lakers are filled to the brim with young talent following the 2017 NBA Draft, heading into Las Vegas Summer League with a stacked group.
The Lakers officially released their summer league roster, headlined by No. 2 picks Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram. They’ll be flanked by the Lakers’ other trio of rookies including Thomas Bryant, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma.
Ivica Zubac, David Nwaba, Travis Wear and Vander Blue will also be making the trip to Las Vegas, giving the rookies some additional “experienced” players for the annual hoops summit in the desert.
Rounding out the team are undrafted rookies Alec Brown, Alex Caruso, PJ Dozier, Matt Thomas and Gabe York. It’s a solid group top to bottom, and the Summer League Lakers should be a force. Jud Buechler will stand in as head coach.
Summer League begins on July 7 against the LA Clippers, followed by a game against the Boston Celtics on July 8. They’ll take a day off after the back-to-back to face the Sacramento Kings on July 10, with group play to follow.
Lakers fans get their first chance at seeing Lonzo running the team, while Ingram hopefully seizes an opportunity to show how much he’s continued developing since his strong end to the season.
