The Los Angeles LakersLas Vegas Summer League roster is continuing to round into form, with reigning NBA D-League MVP Vander Blue and former Phoenix Suns draft pick Alec Brown joining the squad, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.

Blue and Brown join a crowded Lakers roster that already is expected to include Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Ivica Zubac, David Nwaba, Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma, Thomas Bryant and P.J. Dozier. Lakers assistant coach Jud Buechler will coach the team in Las Vegas.

Blue ranked third in the D-League in scoring in 2016-17, scorching defenses to the tune of 24.8 points per game on the way to his MVP award. The campaign was Blue’s fourth in the D-League, and the third time he was named to the league’s All-Star game.

The 24-year-old has received two NBA call-ups over that time, playing in three games for the Boston Celtics in the 2013-14 season and two for the Lakers at the end of the 2014-15 one.

Brown has played for the Suns’ summer league squads the last three season in Las Vegas, averaging 2.8 points per game for the team in 10.2 minutes per game.

The Lakers will tip off summer league on July 7 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
