The Los Angeles Lakers need their lottery picks to pan out, develop and reach their full potential if they want to be able to use them to get rid of bad contracts their rebuild is going to work.
According to the team’s No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Lonzo Ball, the player they took in that spot last year is on track to help them get there.
"I feel like he's going to be a superstar in this league,” Ball said when asked about Ingram, according to the Lakers’ Twitter account. Ball added that Ingram was the teammate he was most excited to play with (Sorry, Tyler Ennis).
Ingram had a rough year statistically as a 19 year old rookie, but his potential is obvious to anyone who’s seen his physical tools. If he can ever put everything together, there is definitely a path to superstardom for Ingram, even if it won’t be easy, and Ball might be exactly the type of playmaker to speak and play his vision for his new teammate into existence.
