The Los Angeles Lakers may not have promised UCLA guard Lonzo Ball they'll select him with the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, but the Chino Hills native hasn't let that scare him into planning for other potential outcomes.
According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Ball “has yet to schedule any talks or meetings with other teams,” and thus, the “Lakers remain the only team he's worked out for.” Ball has worked out twice for the Lakers: Once at their facility, and once at his home.
With just a few days until the draft on June 22, it wouldn’t seem to be too far of a logical leap to assume Ball will end up not working out for any other NBA teams before the draft takes place. Whether that will prove to be a mistake or not will only be known after the Lakers make their pick.
Here is an updating list of every player the Lakers have worked out or met with. Harrison Faigen is co-host of the Locked on Lakers podcast (subscribe here), and you can follow him on Twitter at @hmfaigen.
