Damian Lillard proves he’s a future Laker by saying he’d pick Kobe Bryant over LeBron James

The latest sign Lillard is basically already signing with the Lakers.

Damian Lillard did a Twitter Q&A session Wednesday morning, which normally wouldn’t be something for a blog centered on the Los Angeles Lakers to cover. However, this was no normal Twitter Q&A. It was a Twitter Q&A clearly designed to win over fans of the Lakers*.

First, Lillard made headlines when he said if he ever left the Portland Trail Blazers he’d like to play for the Utah Jazz or the Lakers. As if that wasn’t already enough to get Lakers fans salivating for the summer of 2021, Lillard was asked whether he’d take Kobe Bryant or LeBron James in a game of one-on-one.

This was entering potentially dangerous territory depending on Lillard’s answer if he was going to earn the love of Lakers fans worldwide, despite increasingly loud rumors that James is also a future Laker.

Just like every single time he plays against the Lakers, however, Lillard made the right choice, left the defense in the dust and nailed the shot:

Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka need to get this guy in a Lakers uniform right now, and worry about potential chemistry issues with LeBron later. #MakeItHappenMagic.

*This is probably not true and it was likely just a standard Twitter Q&A.
