Are you ready for more social media conspiracies as the NBA offseason takes a hold of digital content across every corner of the Internet? Me neither, and thankfully Damian Lillard left the latest #FutureLaker watch tidbit hanging over the plate to be crushed over the fence.
Lillard, an active and open user on Twitter in his downtime, was answering an assortment of fan questions as he normally does. Someone decided to ask him which team he’d sign with given the opportunity to go wherever he’d like and Lillard took the bait and chomped down on the tweet, responding in stunningly-honest fashion:
If blazers said they didn't want me... Utah Jazz or Lakers https://t.co/jep3V9qRsS

Oh, please continue with anonymous reports about the Lakers’ “brand” being dead and no worthwhile players being interested in wearing the purple and gold.

All-in-all it doesn’t really mean a great deal to the Lakers. Lillard is under contract until the summer of 2021, so he won’t be jumping to the Utah Jazz or Lakers as an unrestricted free agent any time soon.
Still, it’s nice to see an All-Star caliber player saying he’d love to come to the obviously dead Lakers. Let #FutureLaker watch with Lillard commence the summer of 2021. We can hardly wait.
