Throughout the off-season, NBA players' Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and other social media accounts are filled with updates of their various workouts. It's a cynical way to look at things, but it would appear these athletes have figured out that the best way to get fans to stop tweeting at them to "get in the gym!" is to actually get in the gym.
Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell would in all likelihood do himself a few favors in terms of perception among fans of the team if he posted a few more of these updates, but on Saturday night it was a completely unafilliated account taking care of that for him.
LA Court Report appears like it's normally a source for updates on high school basketball, but on Saturday night that account caught none other than Russell walking into the gym for a shooting session on a random Saturday night during the NBA offseason:
D'angelo Russell walks in the minute the game ends and starts shooting. It's Saturday night. What's your excuse for not working? pic.twitter.com/IrIli4OXvy

It will take a lot more than one off-hours shooting session for Russell to reach the full potential he has thus far only shown flashes of, but this latest late-night run to the gym is the most recent evidence he's committed to getting there.
