Jimmy Kimmel has been in a shocking amount of NBA-related news this summer. He basically got Magic Johnson to tamper on live television, got Paul George to all-but-admit he ultimately wants to play with the Lakers and had Jimmy Butler shoot down rumors about him joining the Lakers that don’t really exist yet (you can’t win them all).
Basically, Kimmel has randomly become the hub for all things NBA on late night, and he added to that resume with Julius Randle Friday night in his episode after game four of the NBA Finals.
In a perfect spoof of the cheesy local ads NBA stars like Scottie Pippen used to star in to pick up extra endorsement money, Julius Randle did an over-the-top ad for a local rocking chair store featuring guitars, explosions, and quick-cuts any nostalgic fans of those old ads will love (h/t Honi Ahmadian of Lakers Outsiders):

The best part of this? The rocking chair store is real! Will they come out with an official Julius Randle signature rocking chair now? Who knows, but it’s (hilariously) an actual possibility.
Hopefully Randle just makes more and more ads like this for various local businesses throughout the season.
