The Los Angeles Lakers now know when they’ll workout Lonzo Ball of UCLA, the player most expect them to take with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. They also have been made aware that he’ll be the only player in the gym for that session.
According to Shams Charania of the Vertical, “Ball had always planned to conduct only a private individual workout because of his success in his lone season at UCLA and never considered a one-on-one workout against another top prospect.”
This information runs contrary to a report from LaVar Ball of Big Baller Brand, who said Lonzo Ball “ain't scared of nobody. You want to work [Ball and Fox] out one-on-one then you're gonna see what really goes on,” adding that he hoped “the reporters and all the news is in there” because “De'Aaron Fox had one game for 39 points. Who else did he do that to? You're going to justify his whole career on one game against Lonzo?”
Apparently that’s what hypothetical teams who do not exist will have to do if they decide to forgo all tape of either player except that one game, because Lonzo Ball and his camp are apparently not game for a rematch.
