One of the NBA’s best stories throughout these playoffs has been Isaiah Thomas’ leap into superstardom, all while dealing with indescribable personal loss. Thomas’ play has left all kind of people asking how such a small player can leave such a giant impact.

To those who’ve been wondering what his secret might be, we have but two words:

Mamba.

Mentality.

What else would explain how a guy barely tall enough to ride rollercoasters at Six Flags could dominate the way he has? Nothing, that’s what. Nothing can explain it other than the obvious lift he’s received from Kobe Bean Bryant.

Which brings us to the next point.

Kobe’s helping Thomas obviously shows he’s moved on from being a Laker. A true Laker legend would cut their own tongue out before they would answer a phone call to help a Boston Celtic.

Honestly, after hearing this latest news, it’s worth asking the question as to whether Kobe deserves a statue alongside such a loyal Laker like Shaquille O’Neal.

For those interested in Kobe’s treacherous actions, here’s video of Thomas talking about how Kobe has helped him.

Just look at the look on this reporter’s face. He represents all true Laker fans everywhere.

(In all seriousness this is actually a really cool story and shouts to Isaiah for performing the way he has despite dealing with something we all hope we’ll never have to. Good on Kobe for helping as best he can.)
