The Los Angeles Lakers held their first official pre-draft workout that was open to the media Monday, working out Kyle Kuzma, Thomas Bryant, V.J. Beachem, Andrew White, and Nigel Williams-Goss showing team executives their skills, with Dominique Hawkins serving as a last-minute replacement for the originally announced Melo Trimble.
The Lakers’ overhauled front office was out in full-force for the event, with Magic Johnson, Rob Pelinka, Ryan West and Bill Bertka, as well as Joey and Jesse Buss, all in attendance to watch the workout.
The front office wasn’t the only Lakers contingent to show up. Head Coach Luke Walton and Assistant Coach Brian Shaw were also in the building, as were D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, David Nwaba, Julius Randle, Tyler Ennis, Brandon Ingram, Larry Nance, Jr. and his son Ivica Zubac. Those current members of the Lakers began their own workout right after the draft prospects finished up.
Because this draft was open to the media, we have photos and information from the workout, which you can check out below:

South Bay Lakers Head Coach Coby Karl might also be in the background of this photo, but it’s hard to tell. His presence would make sense given that most of the players in this workout are potential undrafted free agency candidates and could ultimately end up in the D-League.
Watching workouts: Magic, Rob, Luke, Joey & Jesse Buss, Ryan West, Bill Bertka, Brian Shaw. Saw D'Angelo Russell hovering around earlier.

(Editor’s Note: If D’Angelo Russell has developed superpowers over the summer, there is no way the Lakers should consider any trade offers. People forget this, but Kobe Bryant never even learned to master hovering)
