The Los Angeles Lakers will plan to bring in Kentucky guard Dominique Hawkins for a pre-draft workout next week, according to KSTV (who spoke with Hawkins’ high school coach). Hawkins will also reportedly work out for the Indiana Pacers.
The senior was a bit player for Kentucky in his final season with the Wildcats, averaging 4.7 points and 1.7 assists in just under 20 minutes per game, in the rotation but lost in the mix a lot. Hawkins has a lot of hops (he has been measured with 44.5'' vert!) but hasn't ever really translated that into production.
Hawkins is not one of Draft Express’ top-100 prospects, and is likely a D-League prospect and a fringe option for the Lakers’ Las Vegas Summer League roster.
Here is an updating list of every player the Lakers have worked out or met with. Harrison Faigen is co-host of the Locked on Lakers podcast (subscribe here), and you can follow him on Twitter at @hmfaigen.
