The Los Angeles Lakers let go of much of their training staff this summer, and while that doesn’t mean the team hasn’t been gathering for various voluntary workouts at the facility, Julius Randle has apparently also sought other options to improve his conditioning.
Randle ended the season with an exit interview mandate to get into “the best shape of his life” this summer, and Lakers President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson has said that players who don’t come to training camp in shape “won’t see the court.”
Heading into an offseason in which he and the Lakers can begin to talk about a potential contract extension, Randle isn’t taking any chances that he’ll be among those getting DNP-[Flab]s.
First, there were pictures of him working out in what appeared to be an alleyway with a medicine ball and a tire, but new video shows that it’s actually just the grittiest personal training facility of all-time that Randle is spending time in this summer:
Now that Randle is combining this level of grit with his newfound “Dad Strength” and a game that Nick Young aptly described as “the Juggernaut with handles,” the rest of the NBA needs to watch itself.
