He’s only focused on what he can control.

With the lottery mere hours away, Brandon Ingram and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers are focused on what they can personally control. As they should be.

Rob Pelinka spoke recently about his and Magic Johnson’s goal of not relying on luck as much moving forward. Yes, it would be great if some (ping pong) balls bounce their way, but that being the deciding factor of the franchise might arguably have put them in this current predicament.

Ingram was nice enough to hop on the “Locked on Lakers” podcast and was asked about what he might be doing to improve the Lakers’ luck at the lottery.

“Honestly, I really haven’t thought about it,” he said. “I can only do what I can control so I just go in the gym, play basketball, whatever happens. Of course, we have the chance for a top draft pick and a good player in this draft, but I can only control what I can control.”

Earlier in the interview, he was asked how his offseason has been treating him, to which he let us all know something that should excite all the fans.

“I got back in the gym with some of the guys today.”

We back! One can only hope Julius Randle was one of the guys Ingram mentions if for no other reason than he doesn’t have to continue working out in alleys.
