The Los Angeles Lakers are going to have a new practice facility starting next season but — judging by their players’ offseason workouts — they may not need it. Their young players seem to be getting increasingly innovative in where they find a spot to get their training in.
A day after Julius Randle posted photos of himself working out with a medicine ball in an alley for the grittiest possible workout, Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell hit the beach for a workout of their own that could double as a free agency advertisement of the benefits of living in Los Angeles:
More critically than whatever small conditioning benefits the young duo might have gained from their beach excursion is the evidence they’ve learned the most important lesson for NBA players over the summer: If you only post workout photos over the summer, less people will tweet at you to get in the gym. They’re growing before our very eyes.
