The Los Angeles Lakers have been consistently valued by Forbes as the second-most valuable franchise in the NBA, and the team (finally) appears to be flexing their financial muscles a bit.
There are caps on what the Lakers can pay their players, sure, but anything outside of that is an area where the front office can use their extra cash to get a leg up on the rest of the league.
The Lakers are taking advantage in recent weeks, attempting to make additions to their analytics team as well as revamping how their scouting department works in order to make it larger and more efficient.
The other area the Lakers are upgrading this year is their practice facility. In a video for Lakers.com, Mike Trudell gives fans a virtual tour of the Lakers’ new digs, including a look at the new courts, locker room, player’s only lounge and much more. Give it a watch below:
EIGHT VIDEO GAME CONSOLES??? I have never wanted to be a professional athlete more than this very moment. The other stuff sounds pretty cool too, and from the looks of things the Lakers will definitely be able to use this new state-of-the-art facility as a lure to free agents over the next several years.
That by itself won’t be enough to draw any player, but every advantage helps, and the Lakers appear to have one in their new practice facility.
