D’Angelo Russell’s exit interview starts the show. He spoke at length about improving his body, as well as his leadership, consistency and playmaking. His message followed a pretty consistent theme seen throughout the Los Angeles Lakers’ exit press conferences.
Russell also spoke about his grandmother’s passing and how his teammates and the organization helped him through what was assuredly a very tough time. Harrison and I respond to that, as well as that aforementioned theme.
As much as conditioning might help with team-wide pace, it shows somewhere else that remains pretty important.
Then, to tease the second half of the show, Harrison and I lay the groundwork of what a realistic trade for Carmelo Anthony might look like. The second half of the show involves a pretty tough negotiation for the outward-bound forward with Jared Dubin of the Locked on Knicks podcast.
A pretty good sign of a fair trade is how angry both fan bases involved get. Based on the response so far, the trade seems very fair.
