Lakers Injury News: Larry Nance, Jr. sprains right wrist, X-Rays negative

Injury gets added to insult for Los Angeles.

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Los Angeles Lakers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

After taking a tumble in the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, sophomore power forward Larry Nance, Jr. was diagnosed with a sprained right wrist. The team says X-Rays on Nance came back negative, and he will be re-evaluated Monday.

Nance told Mike Trudell of Lakers.com “I feel fine,” but if he is forced to miss time with the injury the Lakers’ depth at the four will take a hit. Nance is averaging 6.6 points and 5.5 rebounds in 22 minutes per game, and he has the second-best net rating (-4.5) of any Lakers to get consistent minutes.

If Nance does miss games, expect Thomas Robinson to make a reappearance in the rotation, and possibly Luol Deng, as Ivica Zubac also missed the game against the Pelicans with a quad contusion.
