Los Angeles Lakers center Ivica Zubac made his 10th start of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday, but lasted less than two minutes after crumpling to the court with an ankle injury due to an awkward landing.
Zubac needed assistance to head back to the locker room, and following the game wore a walking boot as he addressed reporters.
"It's just an ankle sprain and we'll see tomorrow what's happening," Zubac said on Spectrum Sportsnet’s postgame broadcast. "It's not that serious. [The boot] is just to help me walk."
The Lakers have not immediately announced a timetable for the injury, and Zubac said he won’t know the answer until he gets X-Rays Friday. What he could say was that with seven games remaining in the Lakers’ season, he hopes he doesn’t miss long.
"Every game I don't play is disappointing,” Zubac said. “Because every game is another opportunity to prove myself.”
