Jeanie Buss’ lawyer says the fight over the Lakers may have only just begun

The Los Angeles Lakers’ bizarre day may just be the start of looming issues for the franchise.

Former vice president of basketball operations (and still part-owner of the Lakers) Jim Buss and his brother Johnny reportedly attempted to seize control of the franchise by removing Jeanie Buss, an effort that was thwarted when the two withdrew their case when Jeanie filed for a temporary restraining order.

The current battle was lost by the two older Buss brothers, but the war for the Lakers appears to be far from over, at least according to Jeanie Buss’ lawyer, Adam Streisand.

In a statement issued to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News, Streisand said he “fear[s] today may be just the beginning” of Jim and Johnny Buss’ efforts to take control of the Lakers, which certainly casts doubt over this issue being resolved quickly and outside of the media. This is going to get ugly:

The two sides are set to go to court on May 15.
