Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers were (justifiably) excited when Brandon Ingram revealed that Kobe Bryant had texted him that they could start working together, but the two of them actually physically getting on the court together for one of Bryant’s legendary workouts will have to wait at least a little while.
Ingram is at NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans to participate in the Rising Stars game, and he told Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News that while he “appreciated” Bryant reaching out, the two have not scheduled a workout yet.
It sounds like this is mostly just a matter of scheduling, however, because Ingram added that he would be “open” to such a session with Bryant.
The NBA schedule is crazy, even during the All-Star break, so it’s not totally shocking that Ingram and Bryant haven’t gotten together just yet.
It would seem more likely that such a workout would happen during the off-season anyway, when Ingram will have far more time to train and improve as he looks to make a jump in his sophomore campaign.
