Nick Young shouted out D’Angelo Russell seven times after the Lakers beat the Nuggets

Los Angeles’ starting backcourt was feeling the love.

LOS ANGELES- Before the season, anyone following the Los Angeles Lakers most likely would have called you insane for even suggesting Nick Young and D’Angelo Russell could share the same court after last season’s “Snapchatgate” incident.

The two have bucked that expectation all year as part of Lakers head coach Luke Walton’s favored starting unit, and after Nick Young dropped a team-high 23 points while nailing five of his eight three-point attempts, there was only one man he wanted to credit. See if you can guess who it is.

"Shout out D'Angelo Russell. Shout out D'Angelo Russell. It was all D'Angelo Russell today,” Young said following the Lakers’ 120-116 win over the Denver Nuggets. “Shoutout to my man, D’Angelo Russell.”

“It was 'D’Angelo Russell Night,' it was ‘Russell Night’ tonight,” Young continued. “D’Angelo Russell was sharing the ball, made big plays.”

Russell and young “made big plays” together and (as captured by Joey Ramirez of Lakers.com) the two displayed an almost eerie level of chemistry against the Nuggets:

It was a major part of why Russell was able to dish a career-high ten assists.

“It's hard to be a point guard, especially playing with a young team,” Russell said. “They made it easy for me tonight."

That’s all well and good, but because this is Young, he couldn’t help but dole out a few more shoutouts.

“Shout out to the New Edition Movie, to mosthated.la," Young said, with the latter a reference to his clothing brand.

Even when Nick Young is good, his post-game quotes can’t help but be better.
