The Lakers are going all-out for Kobe.

The Los Angeles Lakers are mere days away from celebrating the retirement of both of Kobe Bryant’s jerseys on Dec. 18. The franchise is ramping up in anticipation of the historical day, announcing the arrival of “KobeLand” at L.A. Live before the big game.

The festival will be complimentary and open to the public. You’ll be able to check out a “Kobe-inspired Ferris Wheel,” basketball shootout, photo opportunities and “branded” merchandise, all while enjoying some live DJ music.

The Lakers did pretty much the same thing on the day they revealed Shaquille O’Neal’s magnificent statue, creating “Shaqtown” to celebrate Big Diesel. Version 2.0, we’ve gone from a town to a land for Kobe.

Overall it’s a cool event for fans to celebrate Kobe, on a night that the No. 8 and 24 jerseys raise high into the the air of STAPLES Center where they belong. The event will be going down on Chick Hearn Court on Dec. 18 from 4-7 p.m. PT. Have fun if you’re going!
