Lakers vs. Knicks: Start time, TV schedule and game preview

The Lakers visit the Garden for the first time this season.

Coming fresh off of their first back-to-back wins since November, the Los Angeles Lakers (10-15) will pay their first visit to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday as they visit the New York Knicks (13-13) with the hope of stringing together three consecutive wins for the first time this season.

After trading Carmelo Anthony for what seemed like pennies on the dollar at the time, the Knicks have been one of the more pleasant surprises of the season, sitting pretty at the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the New Year with Jarret Jack as their starting point guard. Things could be worse.

Leading the way for the Knickerbockers, of course, is none other than 7-foot-3 unicorn, Kristaps Porzingis. The 22-year-old from Latvia has been phenomenal for New York this year, posting career-highs in nearly every statistical category, including points per game (25.5), field goal percentage (46), three-point percentage (38.3) and blocks per game (2.0). Did I mention he’s only 22 years old?

The Lakers will have their hands full with Porzingis, for sure, but if they do their best to make life hard on him, they could steal yet another win away from home and build on their already successful road trip. Enjoy the game!
