LaVar Ball takes the wrong path and calls out Lakers coaches and two Laker key players

Everything seems to be about Lonzo, not winning or the team.

Everyone's favorite and least favorite dad LaVar Ball is at it once again after the Lakers 110-99 win over the Charlotte Hornets. A game where Lonzo Ball once again sat in the fourth quarter as the team rallied without him with 14 points in the fourth from Jordan Clarkson. The team won, was that enough for LaVar Ball to not criticize the Lakers coaches and players? Of course it wasn't. This time he went too far.

After last night's game, LaVar Ball spoke with Tai Lopez, a Philanthropist who has his own YouTube channel. Lopez had asked Ball what he thought about the Lakers recent slump in their 5 games losing streak. Instead of giving a good though, LaVar Ball took the greatest step into criticizing the Lakers players and teammates. I will share some of the comments made in the interview (as he had ALOT to say).

First LaVar Ball downgraded the Lakers coaching staff for once again benching Lonzo in the fourth. (Lonzo finished with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists). "The fix is to let my boy play. He's a special player. He's always been a winner. You're a loser now if you get all of these losses. But he can't win a game if he's sitting on the bench and they bring him in with five or four minutes left and then they say 'Save us'.". LaVar also made a little settle side remark about the Lakers last season doing the same thing with their starters (ahem D'Angelo Russell) which resulted in their struggles last year.

LaVar then took his time to criticize Luke Walton once again for being young and believing he can be the fix. "Here's what everyone is saying. The kids are young. OK. I want the young kids on my team. You give me a bunch of young pros and my record would be better than this on the fact that I'm 50-something years old and I know the game. But if you got a guy who is 38 (Luke), maybe he isn't experienced enough. Maybe we should stop talking about the players being young and start saying the coaches experience that's young. You give me those guys and I'll guarantee you we would be in a much better position because you're not getting the best out of those guys." LaVar Ball has coached in Chino Hills his whole life (I have played against him, Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo all the time back in my youth days - I'm only 20.) LaVar wasn't exactly a coach. He would literally have two cherrypickers every possession waiting for a Lonzo Ball full court outlet pass. In AAU, That usually worked because the opposing team was much smaller and because we were young high school kids, the offense wasn't exactly consistent. But what LaVar doesn't understand is that this is the NBA, not AAU or high school. Luke Walton's experience from being on the same team as Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol while learning from the great Phil Jackson, I'd take that over LaVar any day.

Finally, LaVar claimed he knew how to fix the franchise by everything be ran through Lonzo, however he also criticized two of the Lakers key players for not being winners and just wanting to get points. "Just play around my boy. He's been successful his whole life. Sometimes you have to tell players to stop dribbling too goddamn much. If you are trying to go one-on-one, you're gonna lose because there is no more flow. And I'll tell you what: you have two guys playing against each other right now. You have Brandon Ingram playing against what's the other guy's name? No.0? Kyle Kuzma. Because they're both just trying to get their points up, they don't care if they win or lose. They are just trying to get their points up." Wow LaVar. Just wow. First you went on criticizing Julius Randle for not passing the ball to Lonzo against Golden State and now you criticize Ingram and Kuzma who by the way has been much better than Lonzo this season.

If we really want to look at it, the Lakers have been successful without Lonzo Ball playing in the fourth except the other night against the Sixers. When Lonzo Ball plays in the fourth, he shoots 25% from the field and 14% from three. But when Lonzo is on the bench, the Lakers leave it for Jordan Clarkson or Kyle Kuzma to lead the team back into the game and they are successful at doing so. Fortunately, the Lakers seem to separate whatever LaVar says from whatever Lonzo says but you cannot deny that LaVar's mouth is becoming a big problem, eventually it could be a reason the Lakers cannot attract free agents.
