Julius Randle messed around and earned himself a triple-double Tuesday night. That much we know. The crazy part: It was somehow the first against the Memphis Grizzlies in 192 games. The performance was an accomplishment of his own, individually, and the streak leading up to it was one for the entire Memphis organization. So, to celebrate the historic night, the NBA Hall of Fame asked for a keepsake.
The Los Angeles Lakers fulfilled the request and in doing so, pretty much just ensured that at least one member of their young, exciting core basically has a ticket stamped for Springfield.
At least, one of them, mind you.
So, the task at this point for Randle is to continue to work towards his destiny such an incredible goal. Randle dominated Tuesday night and whether that was a signal of things to come or simply a singular historic night, the fact that his jersey is hanging in the Hall of Fame — even for just Tuesday night — is pretty freakin’ cool.
Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum Sportsnet broke the news.
The Basketball Hall of Fame asked the Lakers for an item worn by Randle during last night's triple-double. Lakers sent his shorts + jersey.

Congratulations to Randle on a pretty cool honor, and to the rest of the Lakers’ young core: The gauntlet. Has. Been. Thrown.
