Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton said Julius Randle was “phenomenal” at running the court in the team’s first practice of training camp, but it looks like there is another skill Julius Randle is looking a little better at as well:

Look, these are wide-open threes in an empty gym. But after how bad Randle was as a jumpshooter last year (he shot just 21.3 percent on jump shots, per NBA.com), it’s encouraging to see that opponents might have to respect his jumper this season. If that was the case, it would open up more driving opportunities for Randle (because his man couldn’t sag off of him) as well as his teammates.
Whether this improvement holds in actual games will be one of many things to watch for during camp and the preseason.
