Lakers News: D’Angelo Russell is already throwing lobs to Timofey Mozgov in NBA 2K

The new lob city?

The Los Angeles Lakers are widely expected to play at a quicker pace this season, but that is more because of Luke Walton’s hire at head coach and the youth of their roster than due to their free agency addition of Timofey Mozgov. The hope is that the former Cleveland Cavaliers center can help the team get the requisite stops in order to get out and run, but in terms of lobs, well let’s just say he’s more well-known for being on the wrong end of them then completing them.

Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell (seemingly) doesn’t care about any of that. Judging by the latest video he posted to his Instagram story on Saturday, he’s excited to play with the virtual high-flyer. Maybe Russell doesn’t need his player in 2K to make shots after all, because if he’s good enough to have big Timo dunking like this, he can probably just spam the lob button on his controller all game:

I don’t know about you guys, but I think we can get behind yelling “What’s up Timofey??” any time he makes a positive play this year.
