The Los Angeles Lakers are projected to be very bad this year, but the team hasn’t let dire proclamations stop them from putting in the work to improve. The team has given us glimpses of that process throughout the summer, most recently when second overall pick Brandon Ingram followed up on signing his new NBA contract by working out at the Lakers’ practice facility.
Ingram hasn’t been the only young player frequenting the facility this offseason. He’s been joined in the gym by D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, Larry Nance, Jr., Ivica Zubac, Anthony Brown, and Tarik Black, and that group has linked up with Lakers head strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco for morning training sessions they’ve dubbed as the “Breakfast Club.”
The Lakers’ official Twitter account has posted plenty of pictures of the meetings over the summer, but on Thursday they gave fans their best look at the sessions yet with the video below:

First: Randle looks ripped. The burly third-year forward has always been strong, but it looks like he’s going to be even more of a chore to guard this season.
The rest of the team isn’t quite on his level of muscle, but their whole routine (and especially the fact that they are all working out together in August) is impressive, and a promising sign for their future as a unit.
