Most of the attention to additions to the Los Angeles Lakers’ organization this offseason has been centered on the players. The team drafted Brandon Ingram with the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and Ivica Zubac looks like a second round steal.
The Lakers also retained Jordan Clarkson and Tarik Black, as well as grabbing several capable veterans like Luol Deng, Timofey Mozgov, and Jose Calderon to teach their younger players good habits and contribute on the floor.
But another big part of the team’s summer is the total overhaul of the coaching staff, an aspect hosts Harrison Faigen and Anthony Irwin discussed on the latest episode of Locked on Lakers (now brought to you by Seat Geek).
New head coach Luke Walton appears to have assembled the most promising Lakers coaching staff in some time, and Harrison and Anthony said why they think it’s a major step in the right direction for the franchise, as well as going against the popular perception that the team is behind the times in some ways.
Later, the two quickly broke down why they think new addition Zach Auguste could make a good addition to the team.
