The groin injury Timofey Mozgov sustained while playing for Russia in an international friendly was feared to be a kick to the groin of the Lakers and their fans.
Those fearing the worst can rest easy however, as Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports that Mozgov “participated in a full practice Wednesday with Russia and reported no pain from the injury after he got an MRI exam on Saturday.”
This is good news for the team, who would have been dealt a major blow if the center they signed to a four-year, $64 million deal on the first day of free agency was dealing with an injury right off of the bat.
It sounds like this ailment wasn’t very serious, meaning that barring any further setbacks Mozgov will be back well in time for training camp, when the Mozgov era can begin in full.
