Luke Walton listening to ‘I Love L.A.’ while playing beach volleyball proves he was born to be Lakers head coach

LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE.

Anyone who’s been to a Los Angeles Lakers game has heard the song, or at least the most famous part of it. The chorus of Randy Newman’s "I Love L.A." is a musical staple at Staples Center, but that’s not the only place the Lakers (or at least their head coach) are playing it.

It was hot in Los Angeles on Saturday, but not too hot for new Lakers head coach Luke Walton to hit the beach for some volleyball, which we have video of courtesy of Richard Jefferson’s must-follow Snapchat account.

Like any true Laker, Walton is listening to Newman to get himself ready. Really, the only way this video could scream "Lakers Head Coach" any more is if Jack Nicholson was sitting courtside wearing sunglasses and cheering him on.

Never has it been more clear before this moment that the Lakers absolutely made the right choice in hiring Walton as head coach:

I Love L.A.
