Lakers draft news: Brandon Ingram says his workout with Lakers went 'well'

He also sounds like he enjoyed the team's atmosphere.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Ingram worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, but hopefully he didn't burn too many calories. The 19-year old is working on bulking up, and his plan to add "10-15 pounds" is pretty simple.

"Just eat everything I can," Ingram told Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders of his diet, which makes sense for a player who is 6'9 but weighs in at a spritely 196 pounds, according to Draft Express. His plan may have led to an expensive dinner for the Lakers to pick up the tab on last night, but the dinner went "great," according to Ingram, so the team must have been on board with his diet. More importantly, he shared with to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com that he thought his workout went "very well."

The player most assume the Lakers will take with the second overall pick also sounds like he's enjoyed his time in his possible home for next season. Ingram praised the team's atmosphere and the people that make it up:

With that said, Ingram isn't shutting down his workouts. He still plans to make the trip to work out for the team with the first overall pick, even if it's a near certainty they will take Ben Simmons:

All signs still point to Ingram's first workout in the Lakers practice facility being the first of many, so it's an encouraging sign that he appeared to enjoy himself, and more importantly given his weight gain aspirations, the food in the area.
