The Los Angeles Lakers kick off Las Vegas Summer League next week, and with Brandon Ingram expected to participate, it was fairly critical the team figure out which jersey number he is going to wear. After saying on draft night he wanted to wear jersey number 13 (without knowing it was retired for Wilt Chamberlain), Ingram was forced to make another choice. He decided to just add one to his original choice:
I'm not saying Ingram just tried to one-up Wilt Chamberlain, but I'm not saying he didn't do that either. Gotta love the confidence from the rookie. 101-point game confirmed.
The one thing we can't do now is give Ingram a trite "BI-13" nickname or some other trite and uncreative monicker now that we know his jersey number. We can do better, Lakers fans. Let's get creative.
What do you think of Ingram's number choice? Did you order one of his jerseys yet? Let us know what you think in the comments, and stay tuned to Silver Screen and Roll for all of the latest updates on the Lakers' offseason.
